Zusammenfassung
Von 605 Magenkarzinom-Patienten, die im Laufe von 10 Jahren (1956–1965) stationär
behandelt wurden, waren neun Patienten, sieben Männer und zwei Frauen, unter 30 Jahren,
zwei von ihnen sogar unter 20 Jahren. Fünf Patienten waren wegen fortgeschrittenen
Krankheitsstadiums nicht mehr operabel, ihre durchschnittliche Überlebenszeit betrug
5 Monate. Zwei Patienten, bei denen eine Cardiaresektion vorgenommen wurde, überlebten
16 bzw. 21 Monate, ein nach Billroth II operierter Patient überlebte 3Ÿ Jahre. Ein
Patient verweigerte die Operation. In keinem Fall wurde also eine 5-Jahres-Heilung
erzielt.
Summary
Among 605 patients with gastric carcinoma treated between 1956 and 1965 there were
nine (7 men and 2 women) less than 30 years of age, two of them under 20. Five were
inoperable because of the progression of the cancer, average survival time after diagnosis
being five months. Two patients in whom resection of the cardia had been performed
lived for 16 and 21 months, respectively. One patient, operated on by partial resection
(Billroth II) lived for 3Ÿ years. One patient refused operation. None of the patients
survived five years.
